Philosophy

The philosophy at Red Barn Academy believes in the rights and opinions of each child. A child is a competent, capable, and natural researcher who has the desire for knowledge and life and is always ready for challenges. Children are encouraged to build upon their own interests and paths while furthering their basic skills such as problem solving and emotions. We emphasize creativity, independence and connection.

Our Reggio Emilia inspired learning uses nature and the environment as a way of teaching curiosity and discovery. We focus on hands on learning and exploration to help students learn at their own pace.

Art Program

Our Atelier offers a creative space to foster creativity, fine motor skills and problem solving. Children can express their emotions by using creativity and imagination.

Our Art Instructor provides guidance through open-ended art and hands-on exploration.

Farm Life/Ag Program

Our farm consists of 2 alpacas, ducks, chickens and 3 goats as well as a large garden. Each day our children learn through hands on experiences from caring for animals to growing fruits and vegetables.

On the farm children will work with our Ag Specialist to learn how to nurture and care for our animals. Working on the farm will build social-emotional skills like responsibility and teamwork. In the garden they learn about science through composting, planting and daily upkeep of the plants. Gardening boosts healthy eating habits and improves willingness to try new foods.

We offer farm fresh eggs along with fruits and vegetables for our families to take home and enjoy.

Our farm and garden create a natural setting which help calm children and provide inner stability.
